Why you should join us
At Finegrain, we’re building best-in-class models for object erasing & insertion — a capability at the core of the future of image editing, e-commerce, and advertising. We're a small, focused team where your contributions directly shape the state of the art.
What you can expect when joining:
Cutting-edge research → Train and deploy models purpose-built for image editing, using EditNet, one of the most comprehensive before/after datasets in existence.
Real-world impact → Your work will reach millions of users through our partners in e-commerce, stock photography, and creative platforms.
High autonomy → We trust you to drive projects end-to-end, from research to deployment.
Collaborative team → Join a tight-knit group of researchers and engineers who've shipped ML products at scale before (Moodstocks → Google, now Finegrain).
Flexibility → Hybrid work is favored but remote is possible for the right candidates. We're based at Station F, the world's largest startup campus in Paris.

Senior ML Researcher
We're looking for an experienced ML researcher to push the boundaries of object-aware image editing models. You'll work on:
Designing and training diffusion-based architectures for object removal and insertion
Leveraging EditNet (our high quality before/after dataset) to improve realism, fidelity, and control
Experimenting with new training strategies (loss functions, control signals, conditioning) to improve precision and scalability
Collaborating with engineers to bring research into production models powering millions of edits
Requirements:
PhD or equivalent research experience in ML, computer vision, or generative models
Strong track record with diffusion models, transformers, or related architectures
Solid understanding of image editing tasks (inpainting, harmonization, relighting, compositing, etc.)
Ability to go from research to production-quality code
Interest in building practical systems with real-world adoption
Nice to have:
Experience with large-scale distributed training pipelines
Experience with video generation models
Contributions to open source ML libraries
